Experience Kansas City from the Big Muddy, known to the Natives of this area as the Pekatanoui. The Missouri River is the second-longest river in North America, best known for the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806. Despite changes to the river in the last 200 years, the area still retains much of its remote natural beauty and provides a unique paddling experience. If this is your first time on the river, accompany a paddler who is familiar or join an organized group or guide service. Use appropriate watercraft and wear a life jacket at all times.
