Adults with Anxiety: Expanding Limits
Time & Location
About The Event
Do you suffer from anxiety, or are you close to someone who does? Please join us for this adventure series, led by therapists and outdoor guides, intended to gently help anxiety sufferers learn to manage the difficult feelings, sensations, and thoughts that come with living with anxiety. Adventure can be an excellent way of helping us to expand our limits and develop confidence and ego-strength.
Session #1: Meet and greet at ROKC Climbing Gym, where we will begin with getting to know one another, then learn some of the essential practices in managing anxiety. Afterwards, we'll gently put some of what we have learned into practice, within the context of rock climbing, before returning to a private room where we will practice self-calming techniques.
Session #2: We'll take what we have been practicing the past few weeks and head out on a local adventure for the day. We'll continue to explore how we can manage anxiety and expand our ability to live our lives without being ruled by it, and we'll be returning home before dinner.
Session #3: The group will leave Saturday morning for a day of Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), hiking, and climbing at TBD, before setting up camp and engaging in some group therapy hosted by TBD. After our session, we'll relax around the fire. In the morning, we'll engage in Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), yoga, then return back to Kansas City.
