Research shows that having a connection to nature results in improved psychological and physical wellbeing, and results in environmental stewardship. Exploring Roots is here to help build that connection.

FOR A MAJORITY OF THE CLIENTS WE SERVE, EACH DAY AT OUR PROGRAM IS A FIRST...

First time being outside of the city. First time climbing, kayaking, camping, fishing, or being on a ropes course. First time participating in team-building exercises. First time sitting around a campfire. First time seeing mountains. First time meditating or practicing yoga. First time learning about self-care techniques. First time being told it is okay to cry. First time it felt safe enough to be themselves.

Do you remember the first time you had one of the above experiences?

YOU CAN HELP TO PROVIDE THIS EXPERIENCE FOR SOMEONE IN NEED.

TURN AN ADVENTURE INTO A FUNDRAISER

Whether you plan to summit a mountain, run a marathon, or go on a long-distance hike, you can turn your journey into an impactful fundraising campaign.

You can make a difference. Here are some ways to help.

  1. Make a Tax-Deductible donation to support our efforts. We are an IRS approved 501(c)3 non-profit organization. You can view our IRS Determination Letter by clicking here.
  2. Get directly involved. Join our volunteer team as an educator or group leader. We're interested in having individuals join our team who have strong backgrounds in outdoor programming with youths, environmentalism, conservation, biology, ecology, ecotherapy, agriculture, horticulture, or other related fields.
  3. Partner with us to help create opportunities for community gardens, reforestation, environmental education, and nature-based therapeutic experiences around the Greater Kansas City area.
